Paul Wirkus
Paul Wirkus, considered among the greatest exponents of contemporary electronic music, was born in Poland in 1967 and lives in Cologne. Dal 1990 he is acclaimed as a composer of minimal electronic and improvisation and obtains prestigious international recognition. His work has been appreciated and reviewed by magazines such as the English "The Wire" and "Pitchfork Media", the German “DE:BUG” and “Spex” and more. L’Album Intelletto d’Amore (Quecksilber/Staubgold) ha scalato le classifiche dei dischi consigliati dalla rivista inglese “The Wire” nel marzo del 1994. Il nuovo album solista di studio è Déformation Professionnelle (Staubgold). He played live at the Sonar Festival in Barcelona, the Musique Volantes of Paris, at the c/o pop Festival in Cologne, at Les Urbaines di Lausanne, al Vienna Modern di Vienna. Già ospite a Lenz Teatro per la rassegna As a Little Phoenix (2007), torna a Parma nel 2008 per presentare 4 Oscylators, composizione realizzata ad hoc per quell’edizione. Continua nel 2015 la residenza artistica del compositore polacco a Lenz Fondazione con Hyperion #2 Solo quando le case e i templi sono morti le bestie selvagge osano nelle porte e per le strade, nuovo paragrafo dedicato al poeta e drammaturgo tedesco, dopo Hyperion/Diotima, una performance visuale e musicale ispirata a Diotoma, una delle figure più complesse della mitologia hölderliniana.
