HAIKU
HAIKU_Where it used to be
Poetic rewilding of lost natures in the urban present
The re-edition of HAIKU was born from the convergence with the political-cultural assumptions of environmentalist associations and the Nature Restoration Law, Lenz's poetic-performative project originally created by Maria Federica Maestri and Francesco Pititto in 2001 at the Lipu Oasis in Torrile and now revived from the perspective of an ethical theatrical ecosystem, which does not discard the productions of the past, but actively regenerates them, in a virtuous chain of creative flourishes.
The project tends to re-imagine disappeared nature and restore the memory of the lost environment, Through the power of short verses according to the Japanese formula of the haiku dedicated to the sacredness of existence in the animal re-vigorous, vegetable, MINERAL.
Poetry in action acts according to the principle of repair: the damage that man has caused in nature is not limited to the actual destruction of the environment, but it affects the very ability to know/feel ourselves in the whole, part of a plural cosmogony: beings in the multiple. So the regeneration will have to be twofold: repair the loss and rebuild what we have lost 'outside’ and ‘inside’.
HAIKU_WHERE WAS FOREST BEFORE There is a time before the stars. The verse already lives inside every material and immaterial thing, memory and present as an elusive image, streak of light and shadow like a cut of sunlight between oak branches, rhythmic wave is refracted. In the first chapter of the HAIKU project they flow in a pulsating flow, in a 'systolic' gallop several of the poet's lyrics and some verses chosen by Pier Luigi Bacchini from Ezra Pound's production, Friedrich Holderlin, Rainer Maria Rilke. To Pier Luigi Bacchini, great Parma poet who passed away in 2014, Lenz has dedicated since 1996 al 2015 numerous and vibrant scenic transcriptions edited by Francesco Pititto. Haiku_ove before was water A circle of water. Always the water, and water and water is in front and behind us, The many faces of now and of the past. The verse listens to by the poet, or through the body of an actress who changes it in anything else, or finally in the silence of a reading in solitude, behind the water. The second chapter of the HAIKU project intends to evoke the element of water, Through the verses dedicated to the liquid feeling of Pier Luigi Bacchini, William Butler Yeats and Giovanni Pascoli. HAIKU_WHERE BEFORE IT WAS AIR I felt the air bitter and I realized Having become double bodies of air-water-wood-rock we can cross the separation surface and thus apparently break, we finally experience a change of direction. In the third chapter of the HAIKU project the verses of Pier Luigi Bacchini, Emily Dickinson, Ingeborg Bachmann, Rainer Maria Rilke, Friedrich Hölderlin take inspiration from the most impalapable and vital element: the air. HAIKU_WHERE BEFORE IT WAS ROCK With roots And even if our end is certain, we continue to run at breakneck speed in the storm of roses and, no more breathing space for the climb, to climb the forgotten mountains of life. The last chapter of the HAIKU project is dedicated to rock, a silent and hard element like the power of Emily Dickinson's verses, Marina Cvetaeva, Antonia Pozzi, Patrizia Cavalli, Thomas S. Eliot, Friedrich Hölderlin and Pier Luigi Bacchini.
After the mulberry curve.
I sit and wait for them.
Now another.
No longer.
That I was at home, with red oleanders.
he is breaking stones
and guardians of tombs.
